The movable portion of the shield is designed to break away easily in the event of an impact and does not compromise the energy management capability engineered into the helmet shell. Replaces the face shield of any Arai helmet that uses the SAI-type shield (Defiant and Vector-2 Helmets). The movable portion of the shield is designed to break away easily in the event of an impact and does not compromise the energy management capability engineered into the helmet shell. The shield can be quickly and easily raised and lowered by the rider depending upon riding conditions. Lowering the shield reduces the amount of light entering the helmet, particularly beneficial when the sun is lower in the sky. When raised, the shield works like a peak, and minimizes glare when the sun is higher in the sky. Add the Pro Shade system to any Arai helmet with an SAI-type shield and get additional benefits you didn't even realize you needed.
